So today I was told by two individuals, on separate occasions, to update my blog. When I gave the "but I've been so busy" excuse, my co-worker,
Amy, just scoffed at me.
Amy and
HHB, you both happy now? I must admit though, it is starting to look stale, what with that picture of the base of the Eiffel Tower. ;) Today was one of my late nights at the office, working until about 9 PM - gotta love those 12 hour days. Oh the glamorous life of a social worker. I arrived home with hopes of catching the last half hour of Heroes (yes, I am a veritable addict to this show), only to discover Irishgirl starting an episode of South Park. My dear roommate is on this South Park kick right now and so I graciously withdrew from the living room, deciding to just catch tonight's episode online sometime tomorrow. Oh the joys of modern technology.
I retreated into my room instead and returned some phone calls.
The first phone call lasted for over an hour with a good friend of mine, Therapygirl, who moved into the DC area about a year ago. She sent me an email last week stating, and I quote, "I'm in love." Yep, that's all she stated in the email. Well, before that she made some comments regarding the pictures I put together from my trip to France via Snapfish, and then she dropped this bomb on me - "I'm in love". No further explanation, no precursor leading up to this obviously important news. Anyways after a nice little game of phone tag over the last few days, we finally connected tonight. Therapygirl met a lovely man this past August and she's in looooooove! You hear that world? Therapygirl is in looooooove! I am super estatic for this dear friend of mine, and tonight, as she shared the story of how she and Mr. Architect met and how their relationship has progressed, by the way I was freaking out, one would have thought that
I was the one in this relationship. I am so living vicariously through her right now! Sad. I know. Nonetheless, I am absolutely thrilled for my friend!
So after an hour of giggling and making sounds which somewhat resembled riotous screeching, I returned another phone call, but this time it was to my dear baby cousin,
Hormone Happy Boy, (HHB) who resides in San Diego. HHB is 18 years old, a freshman in college, and is my youngest first cousin on the maternal side of my family. Yep, he's 18 years old, but I still see him as my baby cousin. Wouldn't you, if you took part in changing his diapers when he was a baby? HHB calls me about once a week to give me what he likes to call "updates" on his love life. At the beginning of this year, it was close to non-existent, but now since he's started college, he's become quite the pimp daddy of the Rancho Bernardo 'hood. From cavorting with "older women (22 year olds to be exact) at debutante balls to being stalked by the local cheerleader, I'd say that HHB is definitely "workin' it". His newest lady friend? Or shall I say, his latest co-ed conquest? A seemingly cute and sweet (or so he says), bi-racial, Filipina-Caucasian, freshman attending a college in Irvine, CA - about an hour away from where HHB lives. He's thinking of ditching english class tomorrow night to go visit her in Orange county. HHB, DON'T SACRIFICE YOUR EDUCATION JUST FOR AN EVENING OF FLIRTATIOUS REVELRY!!!
Before I log off for the night, I'll leave you with some pictures from my trip back home to Vancouver this past September:

During our descent into Seattle we flew by Mt. Ranier and I was able to take some pictures of this magnificent view. The plane was so close to the mountain that one could reach out and almost touch it. I never tire of this amazing view everytime I fly into Seattle.
Hmm.....alright, for the past 45 minutes I've been trying to upload the rest of my pictures onto this post, but I keep getting that stupid reset/error box popping up. There's obviously something funky going on with blogger's picture upload feature and I really don't have another 45 minutes to waste. So I guess I'll just have to wait until tonight to try uploading the rest of the pictures and leave y'all with the one picture of Mt. Ranier - which isn't so bad, right? Revel in it.
